The magnificent Ansoo Lakebab...
Ansoo Lake is about 4245 meters above sea level and is considered as one of the highest lakes of Himalayas.
This lake is called Ansoo Lake because it is shaped like a tear. The lake has become very popular attractions for tourists in a very short time.

The folklore of the lake is very interesting. It’s the story of a prince, Saif ul Malook and a fairy princess Badr-ul-Jamal, whom he saw in his dreams( An interesting story).

On her quest of tracking her and marrying her he had to go through tough answer of her questions, to earn her hand in marriage since he was a mere human and princess was a fairy.  So the prince had to wait 12 years by the lake until they finally met but with the dramatic entry of the white giant and Tear Lake was formed approximately 2 miles away.

In order to reach the beautiful Lake, you have 2 options to choose from. First you can take the track from Saif-ul-Malook Lake or from Mahandri through Manoor Village.  It takes around 7 to 9 hours of a trek for a round trip from Saif-ul-Malook (the name of lake) to Ansoo Lake. However, if you go for Mahandri trek through Manoor Village. From there a lush green meadow awaits you after 6-7 hours of trek. From here, another 3-4 hours of the trek from Meadow, Dher, at a height of 14,000 feet...
So where ever you are, don't miss the chance to visit...
